Mr. Deane began his career at BRS serving on the faculty from 1983-87. He taught at Durham Academy in 1987-88, and at Winchester Thurston School from 1988-94. He was Business Manager for the Downtown Athletic Store in Charlottesville from 1994-2004 before rejoining the faculty of BRS in 2004. Mr. Deane has worked as an Assistant Patrol Director in charge of Training at Wintergreen Resort since 1983 where he is a PSIA level 3 fully certified instructor and patroller, as well as the Southern Division of the National Ski Patrol’s certified Program Advisor. He has been recognized as an Outstanding Volunteer and Professional of the Southern Division of the National Ski Patrol and has a National Appointment from the same organization. In addition to his skiing prowess, he is a certified Outdoor Emergency Care Professional, and certified CPR Instructor. Mr. Deane is also a Wintergreen Adaptive Sports Paddling Instructor, and an avid smallmouth bass fly fisherman.
